THE LYMPSTONE SOCIETY

Our Visitors’ Guide is on sale in the Post Office at 50p, with its map and list of places of interest which, although designed for visitors to the village, may well be of interest to residents too.  Secondly, we have resurrected a “Welcome to Lympstone” leaflet of information for newcomers to the village, which will be free to anyone moving here, again available at the Post Office. If you know of any newcomers, please tell them about this.

Also, the Lympstone Historical Map is still on sale at the Post Office (sample copy in front of the counter), as well as The Lympstone Story.  Our notice board under the railway bridge will display future events and information, and please our Secretary.

For further information about the Lympstone Society, please call the Chairman, Don Mildenhall on 260500.

AIMS

Formed in 1970, this amenity society is affiliated to the CPRE.   The aims of the society are:

·         to stimulate public interest in the history and character of the village:

·         to encourage high standards of architecture, planning, restoration and the preservation of features of historical interest:

·         to maintain records and the history of the village and to provide members and others with knowledge of Lympstone, Devon and the South West.

 To these ends, a programme of events is held throughout the year, including some social events.

 Membership is open to all who are interested in furthering these aims.

New members are always welcome;

Life Membership is £10 (£5 for over 60’s).  Membership application forms are available at the Post Office.
